Distinctive Schools is closed today in honor of Juneteenth. As an organization, we will honor the importance of this day in American history. In solidarity with our staff, families & students, and aligned to a growing number of companies across the country, we close our office and campus doors for a day of remembrance and response to systemic racism, and to commemorate our commitment to continued progress in our own equity work as an organization.
We will continue to cultivate an organization together that focuses on inclusivity and solidarity across all lines of difference in our world. We hope you will take a moment to reflect, honor and observe this historic day.

Our Daddy-Daughter Dance was a huge success! It was so fun for our students and families to dress up and spend an evening dancing and celebrating at PEC. We're so excited about our Mother-Son Dance coming up soon!
Happy Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! We are so grateful for the hard work and care our Distinctive paraprofessionals bring to our campuses every day. They provide incredible support to our students and we couldn't do this work without them. Thank you, paraprofessionals!
Did you know that we sold FOUR HUNDRED (Yes, 400!) tickets to the PEC basketball game at Little Caesars Arena?! Thank you to everyone who came out in support of our team – we are so proud of each of our student athletes, and definitely felt the love from our community!
Our PEC cheerleading squad is so talented! Earlier this year they had the exciting opportunity to cheer on our PEC Panthers as they challenged the DCP Harper Woods Tigers at Little Ceasar’s Arena! It was an incredible experience to cheer in the Detroit Pistons stadium!
Wishing our students and staff a wonderful Spring Break! We are so proud of how hard everyone has been working all school year and we hope you are able to take some time to relax and enjoy time with friends and family. We can't wait to see you all again on April 3rd!
Happy SEL Day! SEL stands for Social Emotional Learning, at PEC we build in time every day for our students to practice SEL. Students learn skills to help them understand, manage, and communicate their emotions. Thank you to our partners @MoveThisWorld for their amazing SEL curriculum!
