What is the Plymouth Education Foundation?

The Plymouth Education Foundation (PEF) is a third-party, non-profit entity formed to develop supportive community and private sector relationships with the Plymouth Educational Center. >>Click for Online Donation Instructions

MISSION STATEMENT
The primary goal of the PEF is to be a private partner of the Plymouth Educational Center. The PEF will secure resources from foundations, corporations and individuals to be distributed to the Plymouth Educational Center to support programs for which funds are not available from federal, state and local public sources. These programs will stimulate excellence in and mobilize community support for enhancing the quality of education at Plymouth Educational Center.
What are the goals of the PEF?

  • To enhance academic excellence at Plymouth Educational Center by providing funding not available through public sources.
  • To better inform the community about the strengths and innovative programs of the Plymouth Educational Center
  • To build public confidence in the Plymouth Educational Center.
  • To encourage community and business involvement in the Plymouth Educational Center in a positive and supportive manner.
  • To obtain financial and nonfinancial resources on behalf of the school.

PLANNED FUNDRAISERS

Founding Donor Breakfast - The Plymouth Education Foundation will begin with a "Founding Donor Breakfast". A contribution of $500.00 entitles a donor and guest to attend breakfast. After the inaugural event, the event will take place yearly but with no charge for the donor breakfast. It will be used to recognize donors, to update them on the current status of fundraising, school accomplishments, grants distributed and current fundraising goal.

McDonald's All-You-Can-Eat Hotcake Dinner: McDonald's staff prepares hotcakes and sausages to be served from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Board members sell tickets, take tickets and serve patrons. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.

Chili Cook-Off: This event will be held during charter school week. PEC and several local businesses will participate with cook-off teams.

A Taste of Plymouth: This dessert-tasting evening will be attended by 350 people. Plymouth Educational Center and local restaurants will provide the desserts, and local chefs will act as judges.

Silent Auction: Auction will be held every year with local merchants, civic clubs, individuals and dignitaries donating items of interest.

Celebration of Excellence Banquet: A fall banquet will be held to honor outstanding students and teachers. Tickets will sell for $25 per person. The evening's cost will be underwritten by sponsors at $250 apiece. A motivational speaker will be engaged and entertainment will be provided by the school select choir. Awards and certificates will be presented to outstanding students and teachers, and donors are recognized.

Annual Phone Campaign:
A two week telephone calling campaign will covers all school patrons and area businesses. The phone calls will be preceded by an information mailing and publicity in school and local newspapers. The mailing includes a descriptive brochure, cover letter, financial information and a reply envelope.
