In order for students to participate in team sports and cheerleading, they must maintain a grade point average (gpa) of 2.5 and above and also exhibit good citizenship. Our motto is, “In order to participate downstairs (the gym), you must be successful upstairs (classroom).” Participants are referred to as student-athletes and, to that end, academic achievement is an integral component for participation in PEC team sports.
Each athlete receives a department handbook. Parents are encouraged to review the handbook with their child. Each parent and student-athletes must sign an agreement to abide by the rules and regulations of the athletics department and the sponsoring sports leagues.
All parents/guardians of student-athletes are encouraged to volunteer a minimum of two (2) hours during their child’s sports season. Remember, parent participation guarantees a successful program.
Sports programs at PEC are funded primarily through the Pay-to-Play fees and various fundraisers. Individual teams are also required to schedule one fundraiser during their season.
