Identify parts of speech, sentence structure and language mechanics, refining and building usage.
 
Writing:
Refine their writing using the 1,2,2,2,1 format and move beyond the format to more extensive narratives.
Enhance critical thinking skills through journaling.
 
Speaking and Listening:
Present a variety of formal and informal presentations culminating in the wax museum, a grade level activity.
Sharpen listening skills through teacher readings and peer presentations.
 
Grade 7
 
Spelling:
Continue to enhance spelling skills through extended vocabulary development and use.

Strategically use established strategies, comprehending any text without assistance.
