Visual Arts Scope and Sequence
 
The P.E.C. student will be able to:

Grades One through 5
Apply skills and knowledge to perfom in the visual arts.
Apply skills and knowledge to create art.
Analyze, describe and evaluate works of art.
Understand, analyze, and describe the arts in their historical, social, and cultural contexts.
Recognize, analyze, and describe connections among the arts; between the arts and other disciplines; between the arts and everyday life.
Familiar with materials and proper and safe use of materials in the art room/classroom.
Use working vocabulary of the 7 elements of art.
Demonstrate basic understanding of compositional concepts.
Create an original work of art applying learned concepts/techniques.
Prepare and exhibit selected works for presentation.
Discuss/reflect works on personal and academic (grades 4, 5) levels.
