Christopher Plum, Chief Academic Officer
Dr. Christopher Plum has been in education for nearly 15 years. After completing his teacher training in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Plum continued his education and completed a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology. Dr. Plum taught language arts and music for three years in both private and public urban schools in Denver. He then returned home to the Detroit area where he worked for Beaumont Hospital’s Center for Human Development. While at Beaumont, Mr. Plum worked one-on-one with students with disabilities ranging from autism to aphasia and dyslexia.
Dr. Plum began working at the Plymouth Educational Center in 1999, teaching 5th and 6th grade language arts. In 2001, he became an Assistant Principal at P.E.C. and later served as the Secondary School Principal, as well as the coordinator of Plymouth's student support services program. He is currently the Chief Academic Officer for the District and cites an unyielding passion for student success as his biggest motivator for coming to work each day. He earned his Ph.D. in K-12 Educational Leadership at Walden University where he was the Harold L. Hodgkinson, Outstanding Dissertation Award recipient.
